The Maharashtra government has cut extract obligation on imported scotch bourbon by 50% to welcome its cost comparable to that in different states, a senior authority said here on Friday.
“The extract obligation on imported scotch bourbon has been brought down from 300% to 150 percent of the assembling cost,” the authority told PTI.
The warning in such manner was given on Thursday, she said. The Maharashtra government acquires income of about Rs 100 crore from the offer of imported scotch every year.
The income is relied upon to increment to Rs 250 crore as the deal is relied upon to go up from one lakh jugs to 2.5 lakh bottles, the authority said. The decrease in obligation would likewise check pirating of scotch from different states and offer of fake alcohol, she added.
